This Blog is Moving!

August 10, 2009

After much neglect due to a busy schedule – I’ve decided to amalgamate this blog with my studio blog. The new link is:

http://jennprattequineartist.wordpress.com

I’ve been consumed with commission work and being a mom to my ‘almost’ four year old boy to devote the time required to run two blogs. It is very time demanding, when I should really be painting. However; the good news is, I will still be working on the ’Canadian Bred Series’. It will be forever ongoing, but now it will run off my main studio blog.

I will keep this post up for about  two months, so hopefully everyone will see it. In the meantime, I will be moving many of the horses featured in my blog over to the other blog.  Eventually I will be deleting this blog once I’m up to speed.

Thank you everyone, I hope you will join me on the other blog, so you can continue to enjoy all those wonderfully Canadian Bred Sporthorses!!

Hanoverian Espresso by Earl, Update

January 4, 2009

We’re on a roll with updates..Mike Boyd sent me an update on Espresso by Earl.

Espresso by Earl, Spring '08

I am attaching a photo of Espresso taken when he was just about four this spring. I used this photo for his Equine Canada passport. It is mid April I think and we had a little late snow on the ground. He had a very good year competing in the four year old jumper development classes. He is supposed to go to Florida for the winter.

Some of you might remember his story. Close to five years ago, I was called up by Mike, to visit his farm just north of Guelph. His mare Remy, had foaled.  The morning before, another mare on the property foaled.  Tragically, she died as a result of the birth. On the day of my farm visit, Mike’s mare Remy, was nursing both foals. She had accepted the orphan foal as her own. It was truly inspiring to see such a sight. Aren’t mares great :)
