Sketches of Black Pearl
February 15, 2008
What struck me about “Emma” (her barn name) when I went to meet her last summer, was her saucy, feminine character. I wanted my sketches of her to convey that feel. I decided to keep them loose in nature. As many of you who are familiar with my work know, I tend to be a detail freak! I can get lost in details, and many times feel like I have lost the spontenaiety out of artwork.
This water-soluble sketch of Emma is one of my personal favorites. I love the expression! It is sold, but I may do prints of this one, note-cards are available too.
